JUNE

6/27 Ice cream season

I think it's safe to say we've entered into the ice cream season. It's becoming harder to sleep in this weather. I've so far held out against buying an AC, but how long can I hold out? The World Cup is in full swing now. Air Miami (Mark Robinson) has re-released "World Cup Fever" Does he like soccer or is he just trying to make some extra bucks? I think there are a lot of World Cup viewers in my neighborhood. When Mexico scored against Holland, I heard screams from all over my apartment building, then after Brazil won against Chile today, I walked outside and saw a lot of people parading around in Brazilian unforms. The new Beikoku Ongaku is out. You could probably get it at Other Music or from Darla. As usual, it is so informative and starting with this issue, they've translated a lot of the articles in English for the non-Japanese readers. I think it's a really good move for them. Some new music to mention. Capsule Giants' new album "Hello Heroes" produced by Rocketship's Dustin is really great. It gets better the more you listen to it. Also the new Money Mark kind od surprised me with having so much variety of styles. He does everything from Guitar-pop, Bossa-nova to Beastie Boys like hip hop. I like it more than I thought I would. Finally, I added more scenes to the Flash movie "the sleep". You can check it out in Whirl o'Purr. I'm also working on a few other Flash things, but I haven't been able to finish them yet.

6/20 Wonder boys vs. the World Cup

Wow, it's been a while. I've been busy lately. I got to see Cornelius at last. He was much smaller than I thought in person. It was a really good show, although I don't think it was a fully realized show. I think this NY show was sort of a quick peek for the curious. I wish though that I could have seen him when he was still in Flipper's Guitar. It's one of those things that will never happen. World Cup has started although I don't think many people reading this page really care about it. I'm not sure why I care for it, but I think it's rteally great to see teams like Brasil and Germany play. I might be buying into the Nike commercial, but I think Ronaldo is really cool. I even like the gap he has in his teeth. It's also the first time that Japan is competing and I can realte to all the fans because I got to see them in action when I went back to Japan in March. Anyway, they just lost to Croatia this morning and it's really too bad because they were much more in control of the game than Croatia. Now the chance of them going to the 2nd round is pretty much none unless Jamaica can defeat Argentina, which is very unlikely to happen.

6/7 an update

Thanx Kevin for that info. For everyone else who didn't already know, David Duchovny who plays Mulder on the X-files did in fact star in one Twin Peaks episode. Why was he dressed as a woman though? Maybe Kyle Mclaughlin (is that his name?) could play a transvestite in a X-files episode in the future. If you made it here, you'd have noticed the new look for the DOM top page. What do you think? I also put up some new movies for Whirl o'Purr. They are still in progress. I still need to add sound to one of them. I can't think of what kind of sound I should add to it.
Has anyone gotten the Gameboy camera yet? It's sure to make good M-file material.

6/4 Mulder vs. Cooper

Wow, it's June already. There's been a lot of terrible news lately. The most frightening of all is the new arms race between India and Pakistan. I'm not going to talk about how twrrible this is, but I think what is not being talked about is its effect on Tibet. I think the Tibetan Freedom movement was finally beginning to take effect on China, but now that India has become a bigger threat to China, it is very unlikely that China would let go of Tibet which is standing in between the 2 countries. The news about the exclusion of the famous Japanese soccer player Kazu from the World cup team was pretty shocking for me. It's true that he has gotten older and is no longer as good as he used to be, but he has worked his whole career to go to World Cup and have it taken away at the last minute must be so devastating.
I finally am starting to watch X-files. I'm always a latecomer to popular TV shows. I waited like 4 or 5 years before I saw Twin Peaks. I watched a few episodes of Twin Peaks recently and it seemed somewhat outdated now that I'm getting used to X-files. I thought how would it be if the main character from each show went into each other 's shows. For example, Mulder starring in Twin Peaks and Agent Cooper starring in the X-files. I thought Mulder would do just fine in Twin Peaks, but Cooper would look really out of place in X-files. I think real FBI agents wouldn't be caught dead acting like Cooper, talking into a micro cassette recorder.
